It was a privilege to work with Carlos on the guitar transcriptions for this book. We met in 2018 when Carlos moved to Manchester to teach at Manchester University. It was amazing to meet someone who had insane guitar skills and a keen interest in critical theory.
When Carlos was working on the book he asked if I could do the transcriptions and we had some great times analysing falsettas of many of the great flamenco guitarists. One of the most interesting transcriptions was comparing a Bulería remate played by the late Moraíto Chico and a more recent variation by his son Diego del Morao.
