about

I am an artist working across sound, music, technology and visual art. I make performances, installations, sculptures and recordings, often combining handmade and digital systems, electronic instruments, found sounds and guitar.

I teach Fine Art and Digital Creativity at Liverpool Hope University, where my teaching and research focus on experimental approaches to sound, interactivity and creative coding.

In 2006 I was nominated for the Beck’s Futures Prize, followed by an artist residency at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá in 2007 and the Berwick Gymnasium Fellowship in 2008. In 2013 I presented a solo exhibition at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, USA.

I am a founding member of Owl Project, with whom I have exhibited and performed internationally. The group received the Urbis Best of Manchester Award in 2009 and created ~Flow, a large-scale public artwork in Newcastle that attracted over 50,000 visitors. Our work has been presented at venues and festivals including Les Urbaines, SARC, Lydgalleriet and Bildmuseet.

I completed a practice-led PhD at Oxford Brookes University in 2020 with my project Playing Code. Recent work includes Parallel Voices at The Lowry, Drawing Wave Forms at the Capstone Theatre, Liverpool, and L’UPIC Ludique, which was presented at NIME 2024 in Utrecht and featured in the 2026 ECHO journal of the Orpheus Institute.

I also play flamenco guitar and have studied with José Manuel León and Miguel Salado. I contributed musical transcriptions to Carlos van Tongeren’s Rhythm and Heritage in Modern Flamenco Guitar, published by Cambridge University Press in 2025.
