The circuit that translated rhythm into text and was used for many of the works detailed here continually developed throughout this research. It went from computer software on a laptop, to software written in OpenFrameworks on a Raspberry pi, to iPhone app, and, eventually, to a standalone device based on a Teensy microcontroller. I found this hardware solution to have less latency than software version and the addition of MIDI clock input enabled the circuit to be synced with other software and hardware.

The screen is a HiLetgo 0.96” I2C IIC Serial 128X64 OLED LCD Display.
